            Pilot’s Vanishing Point is one of the most unique and interesting fountain pens

ever made. Collector David Rzeszotarski will share his extensive collection of these

fascinating pens from their origins to the latest models made today. We’ll look at the

history, advertising, and evolution of the Vanishing point over the last 60 years. ​​​​​​​​

12:00 - 1:00 PM - LETIZIA IACOPINI          OMAS: Past, Present, and Future

                                                                  

              Learn about Omas' recent history.

​

               Letizia is a well known expert on Italian fountain pens and has

written numerous books and articles, including the two volume “History of

Italian Fountain Pens.” Her most recent book, “Parker in Italy 1900 - 1960,”

was published in the summer of 2017.

                                                  Presentation and interactive Q&A discussion about creating reviews,                                                        social  media, and how it relates to the pen world.

​

                                                  Watch this brilliant interview with David and Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson, a                                                   fountain pen collector.

2:00 - 3:00 PM – MIKE MATTESON           Papa’s Got A(nother) Brand New Bag!

             

            Join pen, ink, and bag enthusiast Mike “Inkdependence” Matteson for a chat

about the bags we use to carry our pens and other essentials. This year we’ll

focus on the smaller side of bags: smaller backpacks, messengers, and the

increasingly popular sling bags. Mike will bring lots of examples in these

categories, but please feel free to bring  your own bags, questions, and use

cases to talk about!

                 Mike is a blogger, YouTuber, Twitch streamer, and (when he's not doing

that) he is a philosophy teacher at a University in North Carolina. He has been

accumulating pensfor as long as he can remember, and he's been talking about

them on the internet since 2012. He is also a little too into cool bags and backpacks.

​

                 Mike will be live streaming the SUPERSHOW so be on the lookout to say hi!

3:00 - 4:00 PM – ERIC NUZUM           Fountain Pen Ink 101​

​

               Interested in fountain pens and ready to move beyond the blue and black cartridges that came with your pen? There is an amazing world of thousands of fountain pen inks available that is exciting and expansive...but it can also be overwhelming and confusing. Learn about the "Four S"s of fountain pen ink (Standard, Shading, Sheen, and Shimmer) as well as other interesting types, characteristics, and styles of inks, many of which you can purchase at the SUPERSHOW. Learn about the differences between different makers of ink (from large companies down to individual ink makers), ways to purchase ink and try a wide variety of inks for very little money, and grab some samples to try at home.

 

               Eric would love a job as an "ink sommelier" and believes ink can be as expressive as the ideas one chooses to write. He is currently working on a book about his handwriting quest.
