• This workshop is for those who attended my previous Pen & Ink Wash Art Workshops during the 2021 & 2022 DC Pen Super Show and would like to continue in their next journey creating pen & ink sketches to record their adventures and experiences.
• We will create sketches of various objects and work on basic perspectives and composition. We will explore different ways to present your artwork in a journal. This will include still life objects and sketching multiple items on a full page spread.
• Workshop attendees are encouraged to bring their own favorite fountain pens with wide/broad nibs (e.g. medium, broad, and stubs) to experiment with. Come to the workshop with your pens filled with the following ink colors: blue, green, red, purple, yellow/gold, and brown. Suggested dye based (wet) ink brands are: Diamine, Robert Oster, and Van Dieman’s Inks. In addition to your fountain pens, bring a water brush and a fine tip pen with permanent ink, and a mixed media sketchbook or an art journal to use during the workshop.
• The following basic supplies will be provided: handouts and art paper to use during the workshop.
This workshop is $75 for 2.5 hours of instructions/demonstrations and time to practice techniques and sketch with your fountain pens.
